| I only just heard the "Start of the Week" episode interviewing the author of this new book. After "Counter-Knowledge" by Damian Thompson I was hungry for more books debunking con-theos and, more importantly, looking at the psychology of conspiricists and the viral nature of their spreading. This book really sounds like it fits the bill! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Voodoo-Histories-Conspiracy-Shaping-History/dp/0224074709/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1242397823&sr=8-1As I have said before, we have any number of books written by top intellectuals questioning junk science in its many different guises, but very few addressing the equally insidious problem of pseudohistory. "Counter-Knowledge" did a great job, but we need to go further and there needs to be more work out there before this stuff starts becoming a really serious matter. | |
